Titled "GQ3 Issue 001: Change Is Good," the collection is made up of 1,661 NFTs linked to one-of-a-kind art pieces created by artists Chuck Anderson
Magazine publisher Condé Nast is set to launch its first-ever non-fungible token (NFT) collection in partnership with NFT platform RECUR.
The collection, titled "GQ3 Issue 001: Change Is Good," will feature 1,661 NFTs linked to unique art pieces created by artists Chuck Anderson, REO, Kelsey Niziolek and Serwah Attafuah. Each token will grant holders access to a one-year GQ magazine subscription, a curated GQ box of products, exclusive merchandise and a ticket to the inaugural GQ3 party in April.
NFT holders will also gain access to a special Discord channel and receive priority access to future releases from GQ3. The NFTs will be priced at 0.1957 ETH (around $330) each – a nod to the year GQ was founded.
The collection will mint in phases on March 8, beginning with an allowlist of active members from GQ's Discord. The remaining NFTs will be available for purchase on NFT marketplace OpenSea.
Each artist created over 100 unique traits that were algorithmically combined to create the artwork in the series. The traits include elements of collage, photography, painting, sculpture and generative art.
The collection spans a range of styles, from Anderson's signature bold typography to Niziolek's ethereal digital paintings. Attafuah's contributions draw on her Ghanaian heritage, while REO's 3D sculptures add a playful touch to the series.
The NFTs will serve as a key to unlocking additional rewards and experiences throughout the year. In addition to the initial benefits, GQ3 members will be granted early access to future drops, collaborations and events.
The publication will also use the Discord channel to gather feedback from the community and shape the direction of future projects.
