New Delhi: Delhi Police’s Special Cell busted a fake coin factory in Shahdara recently. It arrested two persons and recovered counterfeit coins worth Rs 1.6 lakh from them. The accused were identified as Akash Kumar (27) and Sarvesh Yadav (24). Five hundred counterfeit coins of Rs 20 denomination, totalling Rs 10,000, were recovered from the factory. DCP (Special Cell) Manoj C said the recovered coins initially appeared genuine. “Upon closer inspection, the Rs 20 counterfeits were found to be lighter and shinier than the authentic coins.
