Ether.fi Multi-Signature Wallet Transfers 1.48 Million $ETHFI Tokens to Binance
Aug 31, 2024 at 04:41 pm
In a notable transaction, the Ether.fi multi-signature address 0x57C…15491 recently transferred 1.48 million $ETHFI tokens to Binance.
A multi-signature address linked to Ether.fi (CRYPTO: ETHFI) has transferred 1.48 million tokens to Binance, part of a broader selling spree that has seen the address move 7.068 million tokens to the exchange over the past two months.
The transfers, valued at a total of $12.19 million, come after the address received 10 million tokens from the project on April 1, 2024.
The wallet still holds 2.93 million ETHFI tokens, though their value has diminished significantly since they were first received. At the time of receipt, the tokens were valued at $6.52 each, for a total holding of around $19.1 million.
However, due to market conditions, the tokens are now valued at around $0.2 each, leaving the address with a paper loss of $15.09 million.
The strategy behind these moves is unclear, especially given the substantial losses being incurred. The continued selling pressure from this address could also impact the broader ETHFI market, particularly if these transfers are part of a larger liquidation plan.
As the Ether.fi ecosystem continues to grow, the movements of major token holders are being closely watched for any indication of broader market trends or shifts in sentiment among large investors.
For now, the ongoing liquidation by this wallet serves as a reminder of the volatility and risks inherent in the cryptocurrency market, even for those closely associated with a project.
