Creator of Ethereum Vitalik Buterin predicted the start of the altcoin season in early 2025, and analyst Michael van de Poppe agreed with him.
According to the creator of Ethereum, Vitalik Buterin, an altcoin season is expected to begin in early 2025. Analyst Michael van de Poppe agrees with this prediction.
“I think that Bitcoin dominance has peaked and that over the next couple of months, we will see that altcoins will start to outpace BTC. We will finally see a real altcoin season soon,” Buterin stated.
The value of Ethereum against Bitcoin has gradually decreased since December 2021, and it currently stands at 0.035 BTC. However, van de Poppe anticipates that this situation will shift, and by January 2025, the price of ETH will surpass 0.04 BTC and continue to rise.
The last time the price of Ethereum reached 0.04 BTC was on December 6, when ETH was trading at around $4,000.
According to Michael, investors will begin to withdraw capital from the Bitcoin ecosystem in early 2025 and allocate it to Ethereum. This will serve as the catalyst for the start of the altcoin season, during which the price of ETH and numerous other alternative digital assets to BTC will experience a significant surge.
If the price of Bitcoin remains unchanged, then for Ethereum to reach a rate of 0.04 BTC, it will need to increase in price by 14%. Currently, the value of ETH against the dollar is estimated to be $3,379, so in January, we can expect the price of the coin to rise to $3,852. As a result of the bullish rally during the altcoin season, the cryptocurrency could potentially increase in price to $6,000.
