From April 1st to 8th, El Salvador will host a week-long extravaganza known as Bitcoin Week. A series of parties, educational initiatives, and community gatherings will paint the streets of El Salvador with the vibrant colors of innovation and collaboration.

Bitcoin Halving: A Pivotal Moment

The centerpiece of Bitcoin Week is the highly anticipated Bitcoin halving, expected to occur on April 19th or 20th. This automated process, occurring every 210,000 blocks, reduces the Bitcoin mining reward by 50%. The halving is a significant milestone that has historically fueled price appreciation and heightened interest in the cryptocurrency.

A Journey of Education and Empowerment

Bitcoin Week will kick off with a keynote address by Luke Dashjr, Bitcoin Core developer and Chief Technology Officer of Ocean Mining, at the Biblioteca Nacional de El Salvador auditorium. Dashjr will share his insights with Cubo+ students, an elite technical program dedicated to developing the first generation of Salvadoran Bitcoin developers.

Simultaneously, Mi Primer Bitcoin, a non-profit dedicated to Bitcoin education, will host a graduation ceremony for its Bitcoin Diploma program in San Salvador. The evening will culminate in a charity auction featuring an exclusive video call with Jack Dorsey, the founder of X (formerly Twitter) and a prominent Bitcoin advocate.

"We showcase our proof-of-work in the morning and invite the community to support our work in the evening," explained John Dennehy, founder of Mi Primer Bitcoin. Dennehy believes Bitcoin has transformed El Salvador's narrative, fostering hope and optimism.

Nayib Bukele's administration has prioritized gang eradication through a state of exception, bringing greater security to the country. This improved stability, coupled with Bitcoin adoption, has attracted tourists and garnered international attention. Organizations like Santander US Capital Markets have taken note of this positive transformation.

The Halving Party: A Gathering of Enthusiasts

The Halving Party, organized by The Meme Factory, will take place from April 3rd to 5th at Decameron Slinitas resort. This global gathering will feature speakers and attendees from all corners of the world, united by their passion for Bitcoin. Sean Harris, co-organizer of the event, expressed his joy at hosting guests from every continent.

Halving Festival: Community Building at Bitcoin Beach

On April 6th and 7th, Bitcoin Beach will host the Halving Festival, a series of activities organized by the Bitcoin Beach project. Roman Martínez, community leader at Bitcoin Beach, emphasized that the festival will provide an opportunity for visitors to experience firsthand the transformative impact of Bitcoin in El Salvador.

Economía Bitcoin: Knowledge Sharing in Berlín

The Bitcoin community in Berlín, Usulután, will host its inaugural Bitcoin conference, Economía Bitcoin, on April 8th. This conference will foster knowledge sharing and collaboration within the local community.
