Donald Trump Confirmed as a Speaker at the Upcoming 2024 Bitcoin Conference in Nashville, Tennessee

Former US President Donald Trump will be a speaker at the upcoming 2024 Bitcoin Conference in Nashville, Tennessee, a statement confirmed on July 10.

The event organizers told CryptoSlate that Trump is expected to deliver his speech on July 27, 2024, at 2 P.M. on the event’s main stage. The speech will be live-streamed to a global audience on the organizers’ official accounts.

This will be the first time a US president addresses the global Bitcoin community, marking a historic moment for the Bitcoin industry. Observers believe Trump’s speech will shed light on his plans for the crypto industry and the regulatory frameworks needed for its growth.

The move comes about five years after Trump’s first major disavowal of Bitcoin and other crypto assets. At the time, he stated:

“I am not a fan of Bitcoin and other Cryptocurrencies, which are not money, and whose value is highly volatile and based on thin air. Unregulated Crypto Assets can facilitate unlawful behavior, including drug trade and other illegal activity.”

However, despite his past stance, Trump has recently shown strong support for the emerging industry. As the presumptive Republican Party presidential nominee, he has pledged to end the Biden administration’s opposition to crypto.

At the Libertarian National Convention in Washington, Trump declared:

“I will make sure that the future of Bitcoin will be made in the USA and not driven overseas. I will support the right to self-custody… And I will never allow the creation of the Central Bank Digital Currency.”

His strong pro-crypto rhetoric has won him support from several crypto stakeholders, including Kraken founder Jesse Powell, Gemini twins founders Cameron and Tyler Winklevoss, and Ark Invest CEO Cathie Wood.

Meanwhile, Trump is not the only politician billed to speak at the upcoming event. Other politicians expected at the event include independent presidential candidate Robert F. Kennedy Jr., former presidential candidate Vivek Ramaswamy, and Senator Bill Hagerty.
