Telegram meme coin joins forces with Best Friends Animal Society to support no-kill shelters DOGS (DOGS) has teamed up with Best Friends Animal Society to help fund animal shelters and inspire the crypto community to support animal welfare causes. According to a joint press release, meme coin DOGS will play an active role in supporting the Utah-based non-profit’s No-Kill by 2025 Pledge, which aims to reach a minimum 90% save rate for animals entering shelters. Over the next year, the TON-based meme coin will provide funding for animal shelters so that they can reach the no-kill rate by 2025, ensuring the safety of animals across America. In 2023, U.S. shelters have reached a save rate of 83%, having saved 3.97 million of the 4.76 million cats and dogs kept in shelters. “The $DOGS Community has generously donated $150,000 to help pets like Rusty – who has been patiently waiting at our sanctuary in Kanab, Utah – find their way to loving families,” Best Friends Animal Society said in a social media post. The partnership will also see the DOGS mascot Spotty become the official ambassador for Best Friends Animal Society. The black-and-white spotted dog will appear in events and marketing materials for the non-profit over the next year. Spotty was created by Telegram and VK founder Pavel Durov during a charity auction for orphaned children. DOGS will also fund one month of care for adopted dogs and is encouraging the crypto community to do the same. In accordance with this new partnership, the DOGS team announced its plans to unveil a new platform focused on helping non-profits across the globe to get funding. The release stated that details on eligibility and application procedures regarding the platform will be shared soon. Founder of DOGS, Andrew, stated that the token’s partnership with Best Friends Animal Society serves as a “call to action” for the crypto community to support animal welfare, starting with efforts to make the 90% no-kill benchmark a reality by 2025. “Together, we’re showing how blockchain innovation and compassion can unite to transform lives — not only for animals but for the families who embrace them.” Since its launch in August 2024, meme coin DOGS has partnered with several charitable organizations, raising more than $450,000 for causes such as Save the Orphans, Save the Children, Animal Charity Evaluators, and cancer research.
