Dave Portnoy Is Officially the Most Americanized American Ever

Jan 20, 2025 at 10:46 pm

The Barstool Sports founder surely knows how to make a quick buck through cryptocurrency.

Dave Portnoy Is Officially the Most Americanized American Ever

Dave Portnoy, the founder of Barstool Sports, is known for his love of sports and gambling. Recently, he made an announcement that is sure to get the attention of any American.

Portnoy revealed that he cashed out on Donald Trump's meme coin and used the money to bet on his favorite NFL team, the Buffalo Bills, to win this season.

"I have the most American announcement ever made by anybody ever. #letsgobuffalo 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸#BillsMafia," Portnoy tweeted.

The sports personality purchased $500,000 worth of meme coins from $TRUMP President-elect Donald Trump and watched as it doubled down in 12 hours.

"I bought $500k of $TRUMP President-elect Donald Trump meme coins and 12 hours later it doubled," Portnoy wrote on Twitter.

After cashing out on his $1 million, Portnoy announced his plans to put the money on the Bills, which he did for higher stakes.

The NFL observer gambled his money on the team to win their first Super Bowl this year.

Later that night, the Bills hosted the Baltimore Ravens for the AFC divisional round at Highmark Stadium.

True to their form, the Bills knocked out the Ravens in a thrilling 27-27 match.

So far, so good for Dave Portnoy. Next up, the Bills will face the Kansas City Chiefs next Sunday in the AFC Championship Game.

Either the former takes home their first trophy or the latter takes away their third consequent win, making ultimate NFL history.

Only a few days before everybody gets the 2024-25 champion.

However, this won’t be the first time the Barstool Sports founder has invested a chunk of money in sports, more specifically on the Bills.

Dave Portnoy Claimed the NFL Is Rigged Following His Disappointing Loss on a Bills vs Eagles Bet

Dave Portnoy has apparently placed his trust in the Buffalo Bills for quite some time now. However, it has not always been fruitful for the Barstool Sports founder.

One such time was when the Buffalo Bills lost to the Philadelphia Eagles in the 2023 Finals lineup.

Portnoy placed a ‘monster bet’ on the Bills, an undisclosed amount, that he lost with their 27-24 overtime loss.

After the match, he accused the NFL of being rigged. Additionally, he tweeted indicating blame on NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell for being partial to the Eagles.

"Ref show in Philly. Goodell took the Eagles. #nflrigged," a frustrated Portnoy tweeted.

In another post, he pledged to have quit gambling, which he evidently did not.

The self-proclaimed ‘degenerate gambler’ is known for placing bets with high stakes. With his recent one with the Bills again, only time will tell if he quits gambling or cash in big time.
