Daily Crypto Signals: Bitcoin Tests $98K, Ether ETFs Set 2025 Inflow Record

U.S. trade policy announcements and changing institutional preferences drove market dynamics, leading to some volatility in the bitcoin market.

Fresh tariffs reports caused bitcoin to briefly drop below $95,000, while Ether ETFs clocked higher weekly inflows for the first time this year, outpacing bitcoin.

Institutions piled up a net $793 million into Ether ETPs, compared to $407 million for bitcoin ETPs. Despite the brief market volatility triggered by President Trump announcing 25% tariffs on steel and aluminum imports, bitcoin showed resilience by surging past $97,000.

Macroeconomic events and trade tensions steered market sentiment, with the U.S. Dollar Index rising to 108.30. The crypto market reacted to trade policy announcements, highlighting its deepening correlation with traditional financial markets.

Moreover, U.S. authorities proposed a $50,000 forfeiture agreement for Eric Council Jr., who was involved in the January SEC X account breach.

Bitcoin price crossed $97,000 despite weak derivatives demand.

Institutions showed a cautious approach with the 8% annualized premium on futures indicating moderate buying interest, which fell short of the 10% bullish indicator. However, the cryptocurrency had a brief moment below $94,000 before recovering past $97,000.

Previously, MicroStrategy remained bullish, revealing a $742.3 million bitcoin acquisition from February 3–9.

Solana network revenue soared 10x higher than Ethereum, largely driven by memecoins.

On February 9, Solana (SOL) network revenue continued to outpace Ethereum (ETH), generating $8.4 million compared to Ethereum’s $875,571. Memecoin trading activity was a major driving force behind the network’s growth. Despite being outpaced by Ethereum in total value locked (TVL), Solana's DeFi ecosystem showed remarkable strength.

Litecoin ETF approval odds surged to 90% for 2025.

With Bloomberg ETF analysts giving a 90% chance of SEC approval for a spot Litecoin ETF in 2025, Litecoin's chances for broader acceptance increased. Litecoin (LTC) regulatory clarity and similarity to Bitcoin’s proof-of-work method put it in a favorable position, which helped it clear the path for other cryptocurrencies in the ETF approval race.

Grayscale filed for the first-ever spot Cardano ETF with NYSE Arca.

In a major move, Grayscale and NYSE Arca filed for the first-ever Cardano ETF, offering a potential avenue for institutional investors to gain exposure to ADA.

The proposed solution will use BNY Mellon Asset Servicing as administrator and Coinbase Custody Trust Company as custodian.

USDC market cap hit $56.3B, recovering all bear market losses.

Circle’s USD Coin (USDC) reached a new milestone with a market value of $56.3 billion, effectively erasing losses incurred during the bear market.

While still trailing behind Tether, which boasts a market capitalization of $141.6 billion, the stablecoin's 23.4% surge since January 8 highlights increasing blockchain compatibility and expanding use cases.
