CZ's Dog (BROCCOLI) Meme Coin Jumps Over 50% After Binance Listing

Mar 20, 2025 at 08:55 pm

CZ's Dog (BROCCOLI), a meme coin themed after Binance's former CEO, Changpeng Zhao's dog, has captured the crypto community's attention

CZ's Dog (BROCCOLI) Meme Coin Jumps Over 50% After Binance Listing

The former CEO of Binance, Changpeng Zhao, or CZ as he is known in the crypto sphere, is a busy man. When he isn’t juggling the affairs of the world’s leading cryptocurrency exchange, he can be found on Twitter, engaging with his followers and sharing his thoughts on the industry.

Recently, Zhao decided to take a break from his hectic schedule to play a game of chess with a friend. However, even during his downtime, Zhao’s mind was still on cryptocurrency. As he and his friend played their game, Zhao also set up a poll on Twitter, asking his followers which of two meme coins they would prefer to see listed on Binance.

The two candidates were CZ’s Dog (BROCCOLI) and another token, both of which had been making waves in the community. Zhao explained that whoever received the most votes would be the token that got his preference for listing.

The vote was close, but ultimately, CZ’s Dog emerged victorious, securing 51% of the vote. This means that Zhao will be putting his weight behind a listing of BROCCOLI, a move that could have a huge impact on the meme coin market.

The vote was part of a wider initiative by Binance to give its users more control over the platform’s direction. Earlier this week, the exchange announced that it would be listing multiple USD-margined perpetual contracts, including trading pairs related to BROCCOLI, to increase liquidity and provide more trading opportunities.

These new contracts would also offer up to 25x leverage, Binance said in a blog post. The newly listed cryptocurrencies include:

The exchange explained that these contracts were introduced to expand trading options and enhance the user experience.

“We are committed to providing our users with the best possible trading experience,” Binance stated. “We are constantly working to add new markets, instruments, and features to our platform.”

The announcement also highlighted Binance’s role in driving market sentiment. As the world’s largest cryptocurrency exchange, Binance has a significant influence on the industry, and its actions and decisions are closely followed by traders and investors.

The move to list a meme coin, in particular, could spark a new wave of interest in the sector, especially given the recent decline in the meme coin market.

In addition to the community vote for token listings, Binance is also planning to open the voting for new trading pairs to be listed on the exchange to its users.
