The current XRP price is capturing attention again, climbing past $2.15

The current XRP price is capturing attention again, climbing past $2.15 amid rising speculation about regulatory clarity and a potential dedicated ETF launch.

The current XRP price is capturing attention again, climbing past $2.15

Current Developments:

* XRP price rose above $2.15 as speculation grew over both a potential XRP spot ETF launch and the outcome of the SEC case against Ripple.

* The SEC and Ripple jointly requested a pause in appeal proceedings, which could pave the way for a settlement agreement.

* Analysts believe this action is planned to coincide with Paul Atkins becoming the Securities and Exchange Commission Chair.

* His crypto-friendly stance might lead the Commission to dismiss the case against Ripple.

* Meanwhile, XRP price recovered by 1.22%, reducing some weekend losses.

* These events and favorable macroeconomic signs renewed interest in Ripple’s potential to test previous highs.

Cryptocurrency investors are closely following the pending arrival of Paul Atkins as the new Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) Chair. His crypto-friendly stance is expected to bring a decisive shift in the Commission’s thinking, especially regarding the case against Ripple.

However, despite recent short-term gains, regulatory uncertainty has limited investor enthusiasm.

Recently, both Ripple and the SEC jointly sought a pause in the appeal process. This move fuels hopes for a swift resolution to the legal battle.

The request for a stay of appeal was filed with the court on Friday. It also delays Ripple’s reply brief deadline, signaling that crucial behind-the-scenes talks may be reaching a critical point.

Pro-crypto legal analysts speculate that this delay is planned to coincide with Paul Atkins’ swearing-in. This aims to secure a likely 3-1 Commission vote dismissing the case. Such a vote might conclude the long-running XRP case, which began in 2020.

Atkins’ confirmation on April 9 sparked renewed anticipation from market participants. However, formal steps like presidential sign-off and swearing-in are still pending.

Acting Chair Mark Uyeda and Commissioner Hester Peirce have also had pro-crypto stances historically. This history increases optimism that the incoming Chair’s addition to the agency might signal a decisive shift in the coming weeks.
