Despite the current hawkish market state, speculation about which token will take the lead is in the upcoming altseason.

Despite the current hawkish market state, speculations are running high on which token will take the lead in the upcoming altcoin season. Ethereum (ETH), the chief altcoin, is poised to underperform its price target of $15,000. However, investors can take solace in Solana (SOL) and Rexas Finance (RXS), as they are set to hit higher upside in the next altcoin season.
Ethereum (ETH): Lagging in 2025
Following its surge to a cycle high of $4,015 in December, many predicted that Ethereum would surge in 2025 and surpass $15,000. However, Ethereum has lost momentum, trading more than 35% below its cycle peak at $2,372. This drop occurred as the general market suffered a harsh reversal since the turn of the year.
Institutional interest in Ethereum is declining. According to recent data, Ethereum ETFs have failed to attract large inflows, dipping to $3.15 billion. In contrast, Bitcoin ETFs have seen around $40 billion in recent inflows. Additionally, Ethereum futures open interest has dropped over 30%, showcasing a lack of interest from institutional investors.
Moreover, Ethereum transaction volumes are slowing down. Last month, decentralized exchange (DEX) protocols on Ethereum handled just $81 billion in volume, compared to $35 billion and $28 billion for Base and Arbitrum, respectively. This demonstrates that Ethereum’s market share in decentralized finance (DeFi) is shrinking as more cost-effective options emerge.
The sluggish performance of Ethereum can be attributed to several factors. A death cross formed on February 9, 2025, and a rising wedge pattern suggest that further falls might occur. The next support levels to watch are at $2,166 and possibly lower. Despite its current hawkishness, many experts still see ETH finishing the year at around $5,000.
Unless a significant catalyst emerges, the $15,000 target seems too ambitious. However, there’s still potential for gains in 2025, setting the stage for another chapter in the cryptocurrency market.
Solana (SOL): Strong Recovery Potential in 2025
Even amidst the current market turbulence, Solana (SOL) has exhibited a faster recovery path compared to Ethereum. Currently valued at $135, Solana experienced a 47% drop in February. Nonetheless, this adjustment offers excellent purchasing potential. Driven by several factors, analysts project that Solana might reach $1000 in 2025.
Solana’s optimism stems largely from its involvement in the memecoin market, which has exploded in 2025. While the recent LIBRA token crash set it back, popular coins like TRUMP Coin, GOAT, and BONK attest to its successes. Experts anticipate a bounce back, envisioning ETH’s future in a green light.
Furthermore, the approval of the Solana ETF could drastically enhance its liquidity and attract more institutional interest. The more capital the ETF brings, the closer RXS will get to the $1000 mark.
Solana’s ongoing adoption by decentralized applications (dApps) and non-fungible token (NFT) platforms also highlights its potential for growth, ensuring Solana remains a key player in the blockchain ecosystem.
Rexas Finance: The Token With More Potential
Rexas Finance (RXS) presents a unique value proposition that could outpace both Ethereum and Solana in 2025. The RXS presale has been a hit, with Stage 12 nearly completely sold out, raising $46.7 million from 453 million tokens sold.
As RXS is poised to claim a significant portion of the real-world asset (RWA) tokenization market, the presale’s success showcases the growing investor confidence.
Rexas Finance digitizes and tokenizes real-world assets, including commodities, art, and real estate. For instance, a million-dollar house can be tokenized and divided into smaller, more affordable portions, allowing broader participation in high-value assets. This innovation opens up investment opportunities that were previously exclusive to wealthy individuals or institutional investors.
RWA tokenization is gaining momentum, with Wall Street giants like BlackRock venturing into this domain. Together, they are transforming this trend into a $30 trillion business by 2030, with Rexas Finance leading the charge.
Apart from its tokenization platform, Rexas Finance offers decentralized finance (DeFi) solutions like staking and yield farming, along with a blockchain company launchpad. These features enhance the utility of the RXS coin, making it a multifaceted crypto project with diverse applications across industries.
Rexas Finance’s deflationary method, which includes a well-capped total supply of tokens, safeguards the token’s value against inflationary pressures. A
