According to CoinDesk on the 31st, Elliott Chun, a partner of Architect Partners, a virtual asset financial company, predicted through a recent market analysis that "by 2030 about 25% of S&P 500 companies will include Bitcoin in their financial statements as long-term assets."
He explained that the change will proceed faster, citing the trend, which has turned from a software company into a bitcoin investment company.
The strategy of using Bitcoin as a financial reserve asset was first introduced by Strategies in August 2020. Streets aggressively bought Bitcoin as an investment asset beyond inflation hedging and portfolio diversification. The decision sent Streets' shares up more than 2000%, outperforming both the S&P 500 and Bitcoin's growth.
Recently, U.S. game distributor GameStop announced plans to purchase Bitcoin through the issuance of $1.3 billion convertible bonds, saying it would follow its strategy. Since then, GameStop shares have seen early gains, but have been undergoing a correction, falling about 15% in the space of a week.
Although the virtual asset market has recently been weak, partner Elliott Chun warned, "If corporate treasurers do not introduce Bitcoin, their careers could be threatened." He then stressed that "a strategy of doing nothing is no longer a defensive option."
Currently, listed companies have a total of 665,618 Bitcoin. This accounts for about 3.17% of the total Bitcoin supply. It has the most 506,137 in the stretch.
