CoinDesk Community Registration

CoinDesk now requires some readers to register for a free account to continue accessing its content.

The move is part of a pilot program to help the crypto news outlet better understand the needs of its audience and ensure that it is delivering content that is relevant and tailored to their interests, according to an email sent to readers on Monday.

"This change will affect a small group of readers and will help us gather valuable feedback as we explore ways to enhance the CoinDesk experience," the email reads.

Those who are prompted to register will be asked to provide their name, email address and create a password. CoinDesk promises to keep personal information safe.

The registration trial also marks the first step in understanding what users enjoy on the site and sets the stage for offering exciting new features, according to the email.

"This includes advanced data tools, in-depth reports, protocol deep-dives, and investigative content, bringing together the best reporting and analysis CoinDesk has to offer," the email reads.

CoinDesk is entering an expansive new phase and hopes its readers will help shape its future by taking a moment to register.

"By doing so, you're ensuring we continue to provide the very best coverage of the digital assets industry," the email reads.
