The '2025 Virtual Asset Conference', hosted by CHOSUNBIZ and themed 'Trump's Second Term, the Renaissance of Virtual Assets', kicked off successfully on the 16th.

The event brought together key figures from the domestic and international virtual asset industry, as well as influential individuals from financial authorities and politics, showcasing strong interest in the virtual asset and blockchain industries. The venue was packed with over 340 attendees eager to listen to lectures, highlighting the hot popularity of virtual assets.

Held at the Seoul Westin Chosun Hotel, the event featured speakers such as Kim So-young, vice chairperson of the Financial Services Commission and chair of the Virtual Asset Committee, Min Byung-deok, a member of the Democratic Party, and Lee Jun-seok, leader of the Reform Party. Additionally, Yoon Chang-hyun, president of Korea Securities Depository (KSD), and Lee Geun-joo, president of the Korean Fintech Industry Association, participated.

The conference also saw the attendance of leaders from major domestic virtual asset exchanges, including Lee Seok-woo, CEO of Dunamu, Lee Jae-won, CEO of Bithumb, Cha Myung-hoon, CEO of Coinone, and Oh Se-jin, CEO of Korbit.

Now in its fourth year, the virtual asset conference prepared various sessions under the theme 'Trump's Second Term, the Renaissance of Virtual Assets'. It will examine last year's approval of Bitcoin spot exchange-traded fund (ETF) trading in the United States and the changing global institutional landscape after the election of Donald Trump as U.S. President. Moreover, expert lectures diagnosing desirable methods of virtual asset investment are also scheduled.

In his opening remarks, Kim Young-joo, representative of CHOSUNBIZ, highlighted the significance of the conference. "As countries around the world seek to institutionalize virtual assets, the competition for leadership is intensifying," he noted, adding, "In today's event, we will discuss ways to foster the virtual asset market in depth."

The morning keynote speech is expected to provide insights into domestic and international policy directions surrounding virtual assets. Kim Seo-jun, CEO of Hashed, and Raja Zaidi, Chief Strategy Officer (CSO) of Scroll, who are actively involved in the global industry, will deliver lectures.

In the following morning sessions, industry, academic, and government experts will take the stage to share diverse perspectives on the incorporation of virtual assets into the institutional framework. Justin Kim, head of Avalanche Asia, Kim Gap-rae, senior researcher at the Capital Market Research Institute, and Kim Dong-seob, head of the digital currency planning team at the Bank of Korean, are expected to present.

The afternoon session will feature recommendations from influencers on navigating the virtual asset market. Joo Gi-young, CEO of CryptoQuant, who boasts 400,000 followers on X (formerly Twitter), will apply his expertise in quantitative (data metrics) analysis to discuss the Bitcoin market outlook. Following him, Goran, a YouTuber with 100,000 subscribers, will present on the topic 'Trump's Second Term, the Wise Coin Investment Life.'

Ripple, a blockchain developer that issues its namesake virtual asset and is very popular in Korea, also sent a video message to the '2025 Virtual Asset Conference.' The Ripple virtual asset ranks third in market capitalization with $18.18 billion (approx. 265 trillion won). Rahul Advani, head of Ripple's Asia-Pacific policy, will introduce Ripple's business direction in a video lecture.

The afternoon panel discussion will delve into the monetary function of Bitcoin with sharp discussions and analyses. Lee Jeong-soo, a professor at Seoul National University who is also active in the Virtual Asset Committee under the Financial Services Commission, will moderate the panel. The discussion will involve Goran, Kim Gap-rae, and Joo Gi-young.
