Chirp, a decentralized physical infrastructure network (DePIN) built on Sui, has announced the listing of its $CHIRP token on three major centralized cryptocurrency exchanges.
According to a recent announcement, $CHIRP is now available for trading on KuCoin, Gate.io, and MEXC Exchange with a CHIRP/USDT trading pair. The development coincides with the launch of a specialized DePIN infrastructure layer on the Sui blockchain.
Chirp is among the fastest-growing DePINs in the crypto space with nearly 1 million users. The network integrates the vast landscape of Internet of Things (IoT) devices by harnessing the power of blockchain technology. Built on the Sui blockchain, Chirp is a community-driven network and platform that provides a suite of tools for DePINs and real-world projects to launch successfully in the market.
Tim Kravchunovsky, CEO and founder of Chirp, commented on the launch, saying:
“After over two years of building, I'm finally incredibly proud to launch Chirp on Sui mainnet. We chose Sui as the home for our DePIN even before it went live on testnet, and now this ecosystem has grown into one of the most promising Layers 1 blockchain in the entire crypto space.
“Now, with the launch of the Sui DePIN infrastructure layer, there is no better blockchain for a decentralized IoT and telecommunications project like ours. I'm confident that with our $CHIRP token now live on several leading centralized exchanges, Chirp will firmly cement itself as Sui's leading DePIN project as we work to solve major global connectivity problems with our community-powered IoT network and ecosystem.”
The $CHIRP token plays a pivotal role in Chirp’s ecosystem, serving multiple essential functions. It rewards Keepers who operate the network's “Blackbird” antennas, facilitates network payment transactions, and enables community governance through a three-tier voting system.
In a groundbreaking development, Kage, Chirp's innovative DePIN P2E game, was launched in November 2024. Players use their smartphones to detect and map wireless networks, including WiFi, Bluetooth, and cellular towers, earning $CHIRP rewards in the process. This crowdsourced effort aims to create the world's most comprehensive geolocation database.
Kage's impact has been substantial, with nearly 1 million participants mapping over 850 million wireless networks across 191 countries. The collected geolocation data has wide-ranging applications, notably enabling indoor navigation and positioning in GPS-denied environments like underground structures and shopping centers.
