Chess Universe Launches on Immutable zkEVM, Bringing the First Free-to-Play (F2P) Casual Chess Mobile Non-Fungible Token-Based Game to Market

Chess Universe, a free-to-play (F2P) casual chess mobile non-fungible token (NFT)-based game, is launching on Immutable zkEVM, a gaming chain built on the Ethereum blockchain ecosystem. The integration will allow game developers to introduce customized digital ownership and Web3 mechanics in their games. Chess Universe is available now in leading gaming market stores, Apple Store, and Google Play.

Chess Universe Launches on Immutable zkEVM

In a November 20 blog post, Immutable announced the launch of Chess Universe on its Immutable zkEVM blockchain network. While commenting about the new integration, Dusko Pavasovic, the Chief Executive Officer of Chess Universe, noted that “the collaboration marks a major milestone in our journey to redefine how chess is played, enjoyed, and experienced.” The Chess Universe is rated as Apple Arcade’s best board game.

Chess Universe Is Launching on Immutable zkEVM.

Developed by Kings Of Games, a team of chess grandmasters and gaming experts, Chess Universe is a casual chess mobile game with play-to-earn (P2E) mechanics, writing a new chapter in Chess history. Chess Universe allows players to learn how to play chess, play with friends, with a computer, or enter other competitions. Chess Universe has grown to become an iconic online chess game with over 14 million downloads.

Chess Universe is integrated with non-fungible token technology to provide digital ownership in its gaming ecosystem. Guardians are unique NFTs that provide powerful play to earn benefits inside Chess Universe. Each Guardian NFT guarantees its owner a special bonus multiplier in daily relic quests, rewarding the owner currency, which owners can use to purchase new NFTs.

The play-to-earn integration allows players to earn their Utility Currency, Relics, by completing daily relic quests in-game. Earned Relics can be exchanged for Chess Crystals, which can be used to purchase more NFTs or exchange for your local fiat currency on exchanges. The chess game has four gaming modes: Play vs. Friend, Player vs Computer, Play online, and Chess Academy.

Other NFT Games Built On Immutable zkEVM

Chess Universe joins a rapidly growing list of non-fungible token games built on Immutable zkEVM, including the Guild of Guardians, an action role-playing NFT game that saw over 30,000 downloads in its first two days after launch; Illuvium, an open-world role-playing NFT game that showcases the graphical capabilities of web3 games and Gods Unchained, a leading trading card game that was Immutable X’s first game.
