The changing cryptocurrency landscape in the United States could have a downstream impact on how businesses move, hold, store and monetize payments.
As part of this shift, the Center for Financial Services Innovation (CFSI) is hosting an event on Wednesday (March 1) to discuss how technology is transforming financial services and the role of government in fostering innovation while managing risk.
The event, "Navigating the New Frontier: A Conversation on Financial Innovation and Regulation," will bring together industry leaders to discuss the opportunities and challenges posed by emerging technologies in the financial services industry.
Panelists will engage in a broad-ranging discussion on topics including the promise of Web3 and open finance to enhance financial inclusion and efficiency, the implications of new payment technologies and the role of government in fostering a regulatory framework that balances innovation with stability.
Among the confirmed panelists are Rohit Chamania, chief operating officer at Stellar; Ann Pettibone Wolfe, managing director and head of the Financial Institutions Group at Moody’s; and Charles Adler, managing partner at the venture capital firm FinTech Collective.
The event will also feature opening remarks by Betsy Innerarity, president and CEO of CFSI, and closing remarks by Charles "Chuck" Ross, managing partner at FinTech Collective.
The event begins at 1:30 p.m. Eastern and will be held at the CFSI offices in Washington, D.C. It is open to the public and can be viewed virtually via Zoom.
