Celestia (TIA) Prepares for Ginger Upgrade, Targeting $10 as Network Enhancements Boost Prospects

Following the introduction of the Lemongrass upgrade on Mainnet Beta in September, Celestia (TIA) is gearing up for its next significant network enhancement with the Ginger upgrade. Initially slated to launch at Arabica height 2348907, the Ginger upgrade will transition through the Mocha testnet before fully integrating into the mainnet in December.

As part of the upgrade, Celestia will reduce block times from 12 seconds to 6, effectively doubling transaction speed and improving finality. This enhancement will provide users and developers with faster processing capabilities, enhancing the overall network performance.

To optimize network efficiency, Ginger will introduce a 2 MiB transaction size cap and set a block limit of 600 PayForBlob (PFB) messages and 200 non-PFB messages. This structured approach will lay the groundwork for future scalability to meet increasing demand.

Moreover, the upgrade will incorporate Bottleneck Bandwidth and Round-trip (BBR) congestion control to bolster throughput for high-volume peer-to-peer transactions. Additionally, CIP-21 will streamline transaction validation for rollups by introducing blob types with verified signers, reducing processing time and boosting throughput.

These enhancements, coupled with recent funding support, have contributed to a 4.97% increase in TIA's value in the past day, bringing the token price to $6.21 at the time of writing. As the upgrade progresses, optimism for Celestia's network enhancements continues to grow, with market analysts projecting that TIA could potentially reach $10, highlighting a promising path forward for Celestia's resilience and growth.
