Celebi ex TCG Pocket Deck Guide: Best Cards, Strategy, and Replacements
Dec 29, 2024 at 12:41 pm
If you're looking for a great Celebi ex deck in Pokémon TCG Pocketthere are a lot of fun options emerging in the meta.
There hasn't been a specific Celebi deck emerging in the meta yet, as there are several good variants of it that are still being tested. However, there are still some recurring themes this will help you figure out which deck works best for you.
Grass type decks in Pokémon TCG Pocket weren't that powerful before the release of Mythical Island. However, two big cards were released that changed the way the meta viewed these cards, including Celebri ex and Serperior. Both cards have ways to increase your overall power in the game and can deal massive damage when they manage to synergize. Using them together is the best way to make your ex Celebi deck sing.
Best cards, suggestions and replacements
This deck has a large ceiling but an equally large floor. Like the problem with the Misty letter, Celebi ex relies on players flipping coins to make big plays. However, unlike Misty, Celebi ex can make her coin flips much more reliable, allowing players to stack the odds in their favor. Serperior improves this with your skill.
With several options available to players, I decided which variant I prefer to play at the moment, but options for replacing cards and other meta decks that are in development will be discussed below.
Lilligant is the option I liked the most simply because they can add extra energy to one of your benched Pokémon, allowing you to accumulate even more Celebi ex before deploying them. It can also help you get Serperior online if you really want to use it, but really you shouldn't use Serprior as an attacker.
However, other options that people have tried include:
Exeggcute is one of the many Pokémon that gained new versions on the Mythical Island. People have tried both versions. One of them is a little less energy hungry but it doesn't have as high a ceiling on damage potential. Exeggcute on Mythical Island is also capable of generate energy by attacking for nothing, which can help you get the energy you need in evolved form.
Otherwise, some people are only commanding Serperior and Celebi ex with lots of support cards to help them accomplish what needs to be done. This may make it a little more consistent and should be easier for you to get the engine running, but the other options are worth trying.
Best strategy to win with a Celebi Ex deck
Hit hard and fast while avoiding heavy hitters
The main thing to keep in mind with this deck is that there isn't a huge cap on damage. None of the Pokémon in any of these decks can take much damage, making things like Pikachu's ex and Mewtwo's ex a huge threat. Erika is here partially to mitigate this, but you will have to move fast to avoid the heavy weights.
Bench Serperior ASAP It's the best way to mitigate this so you don't have to worry about covering Energy costs without any help. Sabrina is also one of the Support cards this can help push a threat back to the bench so you can get the win.
Players will want to keep Serperior on the bench to avoid taking as much damage as possible and keep the Energy effect active.
The other danger in this deck is that you can have a low floor, just as you can have a high ceiling. Celebi ex relies on flipping coins, making it a gamble every time you decide to attack. However, the more energy in Celebi ex, the more chances you have of success, making it much more likely that you'll achieve those high ceilings.
As with any deck, when you are playing there is always a risk. While this deck may be more of a gamble than other high-performance decks, players can maximize synergy to prevent these things from happening. Fortunately, Celebi ex doesn't need to evolve, so you can immediately start working on Pokémon TCG Pocket.

- My decade in crypto: from bitcoin newbie to HODLer

- r’s Day, I try to do something I haven’t done before. A different walk or pub usually ticks the box, but after Tim’s talk about bitcoin (which I didn’t fully understand, though I liked the bit about the house), I decided to try and buy one. After a lot of googling, and navigating a new world of buying platforms and digital wallets, I found the trading platform Bittylicious, which I chose because I liked the name (I still do). It’s one of the more responsible exchanges, only trading in the most popular, established coins. And here I discovered my new and extremely improbable hobby.
