NAIROBI (CoinChapter.com) — Cathie Wood, founder of ARK Invest, has projected that Bitcoin (BTC) could hit $1.5 million by 2030.

Cathie Wood Predicts Bitcoin (BTC) Could Hit $1.5 Million by 2030

Cathie Wood, the founder of ARK Invest, has predicted that Bitcoin (BTC) could reach $1.5 million by 2030. This projection was made during an X Spaces event, where Wood highlighted Bitcoin’s potential to reach 15x from its current levels.

According to Wood, Bitcoin is currently valued at $2 trillion, while gold has a market cap of $15 trillion. She believes that Bitcoin could eventually "flip" gold's market dominance, considering its early stage of development and finite supply.

"We think Bitcoin is still in its early stages, and it's a decentralized, finite asset, like gold, but it'sっくり,” said Wood.

Her investment strategies show a strong belief in Bitcoin and blockchain. For instance, ARK's Innovation Fund, which is the flagship ETF, recently saw a monthly gain of 28%, marking the best performance in nine years.

It's worth noting that the fund has a $347 million stake in Coinbase, which comprises 4.5% of its portfolio. This reflects Wood's optimism regarding the long-term growth of crypto, even during market downturns.

Bitcoin's Role in Reshaping Global Finance institutional momentum continues to bolster Bitcoin's case. Notably, Federal Reserve Chair Jerome Powell recently described Bitcoin as "virtual gold," acknowledging its competitive role against the precious metal.

Moreover, CryptoQuant contributor Avocado and pseudonymous trader Mister Crypto have pointed out that Bitcoin's funding rates indicate no signs of overheating in the market, suggesting potential for further growth.

There has also been speculation about Bitcoin's potential inclusion in U.S. gold reserves under the incoming Trump administration. This has sparked discussions on the broader role of Bitcoin in national economies.

According to Bitfinex analysts, institutional inflows may help cushion any corrections, and under favorable conditions, conservative projections estimate Bitcoin could reach $145,000 by mid-2025.

As Bitcoin's adoption continues to grow, Wood's vision of a $1.5 million BTC underscores its capacity to transform global financial systems and outpace traditional assets like gold. Her outlook reflects a deepening conviction in the transformative power of decentralized technologies.
