Brits urged to hunt for rare 2p coin which could make you £1,000 richer - but there's a specific date you need to look out for

TIKTOK user @CoinCollectingWizard explained these coins were minted as 'New Pence', but the 1983 version is the one to watch for.
Brits are being urged to check their 2p coins as one could be worth a small fortune - but there's a specific date you need to look out for.
TikTok user @CoinCollectingWizard, who has over 200,000 followers, explained these coins were minted as 'New Pence', but the 1983 version is the one to watch for.
He said in a recent video: "These coins, when they were first minted, were called 'New Pence'. They had the numerals on the reverse, but they changed it in 1982.
"So if you've got a 2p coin dated 1983, it's the last year of the 'New Pence' 2ps, and they're worth about £1,000 each."
The same expert recently disclosed which Benjamin Bunny 50p coin you should have in your collection as it's worth more than face value.
In a video, he stated: "If the Queen is upside down on your 50p coin then it's worth 'big money'."
He went on to say: "This 50p is an error all because the design is facing the wrong way.
"The error that's left the Queen's head in a different direction on the obverse design of the Benjamin Bunny on the reverse will have happened in the minting process.
"When you flip it round, the Queen should be facing the same way Benjamin Bunny.
"If the Queen is facing any other way, then you have found a rare rotation error worth money.
"Error coins are still legal tender so long as the original coin is still in circulation too.
"That means you can easily come across one in your change.
"Often times error coins can sell for a lot more than their face value.
"So this is definitely something you need to be looking for as it can be easily missed."
Concluding his message, the @CoinCollectingWizard offered a tip – when finding a Benjamin Bunny 50p coin, people should "flip that rabbit over and check the Queen".
His advice garnered considerable attention online with hundreds of likes and many comments.
Someone responded saying: "Great video! I have one," while a separate user confessed: "I have many error coins."
Another added their voice stating: "Yes, the Queen is upside down on my one."
