Just a week ago, the price of Bitcoin was surging, charting new all-time highs on an almost daily basis. The latest peak came last Thursday when BTC briefly topped $73,800. However, the tides began to turn a day later when the cryptocurrency dipped below $66,000 and it's only gotten worse since.

The weekend saw minor recovery attempts, but BTC declined once more at the start of the current workweek. Modest outflows from spot Bitcoin ETF funds and concerns related to Tuesday's FOMC meeting were blamed at the time. After said meeting concluded, the asset actually reversed its trajectory, jumping by 4% almost immediately and rising above $68,000 on Wednesday morning.

That was short-lived, though, as the ETF outflows resumed, marking a fourth consecutive day of predominantly withdrawals yesterday. This further weighed on BTC's price, which has rejected the recovery attempts and headed south once more today. As of writing, the leading cryptocurrency struggles to stay above $63,000, having lost 5% on a daily scale and over 7% in the past week.

Most altcoins have followed suit with notable weekly declines. Ethereum, for example, stood above $4,000 last week but is now down to $3,300. ADA, DOT, MATIC, and NEAR have lost double-digit percentages in the same timeframe.
