Cryptocurrency markets are experiencing fluctuations as traders brace for President Donald Trump's “Liberation Day” announcement

Crypto traders are keeping a close eye on President Donald Trump’s “Liberation Day” announcement, which is expected to introduce reciprocal tariffs targeting 15 countries at 4 PM Washington time in the White House Rose Garden. The U.S. Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent confirmed the announcement earlier today.
The cryptocurrency markets are experiencing slight fluctuations as traders digest the news and prepare for the potential impact on Bitcoin (BTC). Despite the looming uncertainty, Bitcoin remains in strong territory.
At press time, Bitcoin has increased by more than 2% and is now trading at $86,750. BTC soared to a high of $87,300 before hitting a slight reverse.
The leading cryptocurrency is currently breaking out of a bullish flag pattern, with the Ichimoku cloud above appearing thin, which suggests that BTC could maintain momentum and push higher.

Short-term, #BTC appears to be breaking out of a bull flag. The Ichimoku cloud just above is thin, the price could slice through with momentum.

However, the news concerning new tariffs might induce short-term volatility.
If Bitcoin encounters rejection at the $85,400 resistance and begins retracing, it could potentially move towards the next support zone around $80,000. In the event of a negative market reaction to the tariff announcement, BTC might test the $77,000 level, a price point it touched in late February and mid-March.
