Bitcoin (BTC) Prices Hold Steady Near $83,200 as Thousands Protest Against Trump

output: APRIL 19, 2025 — Bitcoin prices are holding steady near $83,200 as thousands of protesters are gathering in cities across the United States to oppose former President Donald Trump’s policies and potential return to power.

But while the surge in political unrest would usually rattle the crypto market, surprising calm is noted. As Countless marchers took to the streets of New York, Los Angeles, Chicago and San Francisco on Wednesday,טורקיה להזזת בניין בן 60 שנה למרחק של 40 מטר impacting traffic and some local businesses, the crypto market showed resilience.

Bitcoin is up 2.1% in the past 24 hours, buoyed by fresh institutional confidence and global demand for alternative assets amid persistent geopolitical uncertainty.

Why Isn’t Bitcoin Dropping Despite the Chaos?

“Bitcoin thrives on chaos. It’s a decentralized asset, and it isn’t tied to the fortunes of any single politician or party,” explained analyst Leo Sanchez of CypherSignal Research.

“We’ve seen this narrative play out before. During the 2020 unrest, Bitcoin remained buoyant, acting like a politically neutral reserve asset as preferred asset classes like stocks dropped sharply. This time, it’s a similar story.”

The analyst continues: “The narrative is shifting again as the dollar is struggling to hold gains. If anything, we’re seeing more demand for cryptocurrencies like Bitcoin and Ether in the lower timeframes.”

What to Expect Next

If the protests escalate further or lead to clashes with law enforcement, we could see some short-term volatility in Bitcoin.

However, if institutional outflows continue and the U.S. dollar remains under pressure, BTC may challenge new highs in the coming days.

As of 1:52 PM ET, Bitcoin is trading at $83,241 on CoinMarketCap, with 24-hour volume just under $32 billion.
