Bitcoin (BTC) Price Will Hit New All-Time Highs This Year, Promises Market Analyst

Mar 05, 2025 at 04:00 am

A well-known market analyst believes Bitcoin is on track to reach new highs this year. Tom Lee, the co-founder of Fundstrat Global Advisors, expects the cryptocurrency to do «better than $150,000» by the end of 2025.

Bitcoin (BTC) Price Will Hit New All-Time Highs This Year, Promises Market Analyst

A well-known market analyst predicts that Bitcoin is on track to hit new highs this year, with the cryptocurrency expected to perform “better than $150,000” by the end of 2025.

Tom Lee, the co-founder of Fundstrat Global Advisors, made the prediction on CNBC’s Squawk Box. The analyst highlighted several key fundamentals that support his bullish outlook on the world’s leading cryptocurrency.

His latest comments come as Bitcoin struggles with recent volatility but remains a popular investment choice among institutional and retail traders.

Bitcoin Volatility And Market Movements

In recent months, the top coin has seen a great deal of price fluctuations.

February 2025 saw the top cryptocurrency experience a nearly 24% decline, which may have caused some investors to lose faith. However, in spite of this, the current price of Bitcoin is nearly $84,500. During the day, it fluctuated between a high of $90,400 and a low of $82,500.

But Lee isn’t worried about the short-term ups and downs and thinks that BTC’s long-term prospects outweigh its short-term setbacks.

Among the primary factors driving Lee’s optimism is the increasing participation of major financial institutions in the cryptocurrency market. Companies like Citadel have now entered the crypto space to provide Bitcoin with more institutional involvement.

The alpha coin’s use case becomes broader for future expansion the more traditional institutions engage with digital assets.

Other financial giants also share a positive outlook for Bitcoin in the long run. Both Bitwise and Standard Chartered are forecasting Bitcoin to reach $200,000 in 2025. Such predictions support Lee’s perspective and suggest that Bitcoin still has significant scope for growth.

Government Influence On Bitcoin’s Future

Furthermore, recent actions by the U.S. government could also influence Bitcoin’s performance this year. President Donald Trump recently announced his plans to establish a strategic cryptocurrency reserve.

This initiative suggests an increasing interest from the government in digital assets, which could affect market sentiment and contribute to price increases.

At the same time, regulatory uncertainty continues to play a role in Bitcoin’s price movements. Despite the growing institutional adoption, market participants will be closely monitoring any changes in regulations that could impact the future of cryptocurrencies.

Long-Term Holding Vs. Short-Term Trading

For those considering investing in Bitcoin, Lee advises a long-term outlook. He notes that the coin often experiences short, rapid bursts of growth, making it dangerous to try and time the market.

Instead, it might be a wiser strategy to hold onto Bitcoin for the long haul and ride out any short-term fluctuations.

Bitcoin’s price is known for its volatility, but it also shows resilience with its history of strong recovery from bear markets. If Lee’s prediction is correct, 2025 could be another year of new highs for the world’s largest cryptocurrency.
