Bitcoin (BTC) Bulls Attempt Recovery As Whales Return to Accumulation

Mar 21, 2025 at 05:00 pm

Bitcoin is now trading above key levels, but bulls still have work to do before confirming a full recovery.

Bitcoin (BTC) Bulls Attempt Recovery As Whales Return to Accumulation

Bitcoin (BTC) price is currently trading above a crucial demand zone as bulls strive to recover following weeks of intense selling pressure and macroeconomic uncertainty. Since hitting a new all-time high of $109K in January, BTC has shed over 29% of its value, leading to speculation of a potential bear market.

However, recent price action shows some strength as Bitcoin climbed over 7% from Tuesday’s low of $81K. As macroeconomic trends ebb and macroeconomic reports continue to roll in, market analysts remain divided on Bitcoin’s next move. Some predict the asset is entering a prolonged downtrend while others believe the current dip is a healthy correction ahead of a major recovery.

A key factor influencing this outlook is the behavior of Bitcoin whales, or large holders, who often dictate long-term trends. According to recent analysis by IntoTheBlock, Bitcoin whale balances have been in a downward trend for nearly a year, signaling a period of distribution and decreasing demand for the cryptocurrency.

However, March data now hints at a possible reversal as whales have accumulated around 62,000 BTC since the beginning of the month. This shift in behavior could indicate that institutional and high-net-worth investors are positioning themselves for a potential rebound in the second quarter of 2024.

For Bitcoin to fully recover, bulls must hold the current levels and push the price above the key resistance zones. But if the tide turns against the bulls and the price drops below the crucial support levels, it could open the door for further downside pressure.

The coming weeks of trading sessions will be critical in determining whether Bitcoin can sustain its recent gains and reclaim the bullish momentum or if the market remains under bearish control.

Bitcoin Bulls Attempt Recovery As Whales Return To Accumulation

Bitcoin price is trading above a crucial demand zone as bulls attempt to reclaim momentum and push towards higher resistance levels. In the short term, the key level to watch is $88K, which coincides with the 4-hour 200 EMA and acts as a major resistance barrier.

If BTC manages to break above this level, we can expect to see a swift breakout towards $90K, potentially confirming a shift in momentum towards recovery. However, Bitcoin’s price action remains fragile, with bulls struggling to establish a strong foothold. The market is still susceptible to macroeconomic uncertainty, and any failure to hold above $85K could trigger renewed selling pressure.

If the bears manage to push the price below $81K, it could open the door for further downside towards lower demand zones. Therefore, the next few trading sessions will be crucial as Bitcoin attempts to sustain its recent gains.

If bulls can maintain control and reclaim the $88K-$90K zone, we can expect to see a stronger uptrend develop. However, losing the $85K support level could put Bitcoin at risk of testing lower demand zones, ultimately reinforcing bearish sentiment.
