Bitcoin Betting Markets Surge on Prospect of Donald Trump Establishing a Reserve

Kalshi and Polymarket see a growing probability that Trump will create a BTC reserve by 2026.
Betting markets show a higher chance that Donald Trump will create a Bitcoin reserve after taking office.
Both Kalshi and Polymarket see a growing chance that Trump will create a BTC reserve by 2026. Kalshi bettors estimate a 70% chance, while Polymarket users predict a 42% chance within the first 100 days.
This increase in betting odds is due to optimism about Trump’s pro-crypto policies.
At the Bitcoin 2024 conference, Trump promised to make the United States a global crypto capital. He also vowed to create a national strategic bitcoin reserve.
On January 16, reports suggested that Trump might expand this reserve to include more cryptocurrencies, such as USD Coin (USDC), Solana (SOL), and XRP. He also plans to sign an executive order declaring crypto a national priority after taking office.
According to researchers from CoinShares, creating a BTC reserve would boost Bitcoin adoption more than BTC ETFs.
Betting markets are hopeful that Trump’s crypto policies will transform the global financial system.
