Binance Officially Announces 10 Tokens Will Be Placed Under the “Monitoring Tag,” Signaling Higher Volatility and Risks
Mar 05, 2025 at 02:22 pm
Binance, one of the top centralized exchanges, officially announced that it will place 10 tokens under the “Monitoring Tag,” signaling higher volatility and risks
Binance, one of the leading centralized exchanges, has announced that it will be placing 10 tokens under the “Monitoring Tag.” This tag signals that the tokens have higher volatility and risk compared to other listed tokens. Investors are urged to exercise caution when trading these tokens.
The 10 tokens that have been added to the Monitoring Tag are:
* Band Protocol (BAND)
* MATIC (MATIC)
* Chainlink (LINK)
* Aave (AAVE)
* Optimism (OP)
* ApeCoin (APE)
* Solana (SOL)
* CRV (CRV)
* Arise (ARISE)
* AADA (AADA)
Tokens with the Monitoring Tag exhibit significantly higher volatility and risk than other tokens on Binance. Binance closely monitors these tokens and may delist them if they fail to meet its criteria.
Users can find the Monitoring Tags on the Binance Spot and Binance Margin trading pages, as well as on the Markets Overview page. Additionally, Binance displays a risk warning banner for all tokens carrying the Monitoring Tag.
For users wanting to gain trading access to tokens with a Monitoring Tag, they have to strictly obey the following requirements: (i) pass a quiz every 90 days on Binance Spot/Binance Margin and (ii) accept Binance’s terms of use. The quizzes are designed to ensure that users fully understand the risks before trading tokens with the Monitoring Tag.
Binance frequently evaluates several key aspects before assigning or removing a Monitoring Tag, including:
* The project’s background, team, and community
* The project’s technology and use cases
* The project’s market performance and liquidity
* Any legal or regulatory issues that may affect the project
* Feedback from the Binance community
Starting March 4, 2025, Binance will adjust the Monitoring Tag review process to a monthly cycle based on community feedback. Binance will add new projects in the first week of each month, while they will continue to review Monitoring Tag and Seed Tag removals quarterly.
The Monitoring Tag is applied to high-risk tokens that face a greater chance of delisting if they do not meet Binance’s standards. Trade responsibly and stay informed.
