Binance Founder Joins Forces With Malaysia to Supercharge Blockchain Agenda
Apr 24, 2025 at 01:30 pm
Malaysia is accelerating its push into blockchain, holding discussions with Binance’s founder as it aims to become Southeast Asia’s leading hub for tokenization and digital finance.
Malaysia is making rapid progress in its blockchain integration, with Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim announcing a meeting with Binance founder Changpeng Zhao (CZ) to discuss advancing the nation’s agenda in the blockchain and digital assets domain.
Anwar took to X, formerly Twitter, on April 22 to share the news of the strategic engagement.
“Had a productive meeting today with Changpeng Zhao, Founder of Binance, to discuss how Malaysia can play a key role in the blockchain and digital assets ecosystem in Southeast Asia,” said the prime minister.
The meeting follows previous discussions on multi-agency collaboration in shaping Malaysia’s innovation agenda.
“I welcome continued discussions with agencies such as the Securities Commission, Bank Negara Malaysia, and the Ministry of Digital to explore ways to facilitate and promote responsible innovation,” he added.
During the talks, both parties explored initiatives that could accelerate Malaysia’s digital transformation, particularly through the integration of blockchain in financial systems.
Anwar highlighted the importance of proactive government involvement in this domain.
He further noted, “It’s clear that government leadership is essential in driving blockchain adoption—such as through digitization and exploring tokenization of financial instruments and other use cases.”
His remarks suggest that Malaysia is considering more progressive regulatory and policy frameworks that could support tokenization and related financial innovations.
CZ confirmed the meeting shortly afterward, posting on X: “Great discussions in Malaysia.”
76ers star Joel Embiid had a message for Ben Simmons after the Brooklyn Nets star was reportedly unhappy with his lack of involvement in the offense.
Embiid took to X, formerly Twitter, on Monday to share a short clip of Simmons making a no-look pass to teammate Mikal Bridges for a three-pointer.
Tagging Simmons, Embiid wrote, “Ben get yo shot off.”

After a strong showing in Game 1, Simmons struggled to get going in Game 2 as the Nets fell behind 2-0 in the series.
Despite averaging 9.3 assists per game this season, Simmons appeared hesitant to shoot the ball, taking just two shots in Game 1 and three shots in Game 2.
According to a report by Heavy Sanavy, Simmons was reportedly unhappy with his lack of involvement in the offense and felt like he wasn’t getting enough shot attempts.
The three-time All-Star shot 33.8 percent from the floor this season and appeared more comfortable setting up his teammates than scoring himself.
However, Embiid appeared to be encouraging Simmons to be more aggressive and get his own shot whenever possible.
The two stars will meet again on Wednesday for Game 3 at
