Record amounts were wagered on the Super Bowl in BC this year, according to the BC Lottery Corporation.
Nearly $2.5 million was bet on the big game, an increase from the $2.1 million wagered last year.
In 2023, $1.8 million was wagered on the Super Bowl.
Matt Lee with the BC Lottery Corporation told MyPGNow.com the province saw another record amount wagered on the big game.
“Last year, we mentioned that more than $2.1 million dollars had been wagered on the big game – this year we saw a little bit more than that, an improvement over last year with almost 2.5 million wagered this year and we are very excited to see those results.”
The Super Bowl is the second-most popular event on the betting menu in BC next to the American Presidential Election.
Some of the most popular bets included what color of Gatorade would be dumped on the winning head coach to the coin toss as well as which coach would be the first to cry.
