Battling limescale can be a nightmare in the bathroom as it stubbornly grips surfaces and often infiltrates your shower head.

Battling limescale can be a nightmare in the bathroom, especially when it infiltrates your shower head. Not only is it an eyesore, but it can also impede water flow by clogging the exit holes.
While white vinegar is a go-to natural solution for descaling, one cleaning buff Lianne Wood encountered a tough challenge with her severe limescale issue.
All seemed lost after trying numerous suggestions from fellow cleaning aficionados until Lianne came across a miraculous fix, simply using a coin. Lianne is based in the UK and calls on a 2p coin, but a penny, which is also copper coated, will do the trick in the US, reports Daily Express UK.
Excitedly sharing her success story in the Mrs Hinch Cleaning Tips and Tricks Facebook group, Lianne said: "So, I've lived in my house for a long time now! The shower head on our taps does not work properly. Because of the thick limescale, water doesn't spray properly.
"I've tried cleaning it over the years, but gave up. I tried using vinegar, but it wouldn't remove the shower head limescale completely. That is, until tonight, thanks to seeing the 2p hack. It worked well on the limescale in 15 seconds. It's so much better!"
It is thought that a chemical reaction occurs between the copper in the coin and the limescale, dissolving it.
Shelly Law, a fellow group member, resonated with Lianne's success story, sharing her own substantial results from utilizing a humble copper coated coin on her shower head and faucets.
Lianne, an avid Mrs Hinch fan, even provided photographic evidence of the transformative effects of the 2p trick on her shower head.
Before the intervention, the fixture was encased in thick black limescale; after using the coin, it looked impeccably clean.

"For many years, I've tried different lotions and potions to solve the limescale problem on these taps and shower heads.
"I joined this group and saw a few mentions of a 2p coin, I was sceptical, I thought 'well I've tried everything else, what have I got to lose'? We have a winner. The limescale is all gone now."
Other Facebook group members shared their excitement in the comments section.
Heather McKee write: "I tried the 2p tip; it's amazing. I'm descaling everything now."
Jadejemma chimed: "Amazing, isn't it? I was like you and super sceptical, but now I look around for any signs of limescale anywhere just to do some more."
And AJ WB added a comic twist to his admission: "I was sceptical too, but it really does work! The only problem I have now is that the limescale was basically holding the 20-year-old tap together, and now it's dripping constantly."
