Aston Villa vs Liverpool predictions
With neither Aston Villa nor Liverpool required to play in the Champions League playoffs, Liverpool’s Matchday 29 fixture at Villa Park has been brought forward with the Reds playing in the Carabao Cup final on the weekend this match is scheduled.
If the Reds win, they will be ten points clear at the top of the table. But, to get the three points, Arne Slot’s men will have to overcome an Aston Villa team that hasn’t lost at Villa Park since Matchday 2 of the season.
Despite being hard to beat at home, Villa’s top-four hopes are fading. Unai Emery’s team are now ninth in the table with 38 points from 25 matches.
Having been as high as fourth earlier in the season, Villa are now six points behind fourth-place Manchester City, and with as many as eight teams in the fight for third and fourth place, qualification -through the league - for next season's Champions League looks a long way off for the Midlanders.
More points were dropped at Villa Park last Saturday. This time Ipswich left with a share of the spoils, and the Tractor Boys had to play all the second half with ten men after Axel Tuanzebe saw red after 40 minutes.
Being a man down didn’t prevent Ipswich from taking a shock lead through Liam Delap after 56 minutes. Villa equalised not long after, with Ollie Watkins picking up the scraps from a Marcus Rashford free-kick that struck the bar.
Villa huffed and puffed, but couldn’t find the winner and had to settle for a 1-1 draw.
The league table looks good for Liverpool. They sit top with 60 points from 25 matches.
But what a week Arne Slot’s men have had, and how different the matches against Everton and Wolves could have played out.
Liverpool started with a 2-2 draw away at Everton in the Merseyside derby. James Tarkowski’s last-gasp equaliser for the Toffees gave the home team a share of the spoils and deprived Liverpool of two points.
Liverpool were then coasting to a win over Wolves on Sunday, leading Vítor Pereira’s team 2-0 at the break and in full control.
The Reds then had a shocker of a second half, failing to register one shot on target. Matheus Cunha pulled a goal back for Wolves after 67 minutes. That left Liverpool clinging on for the remaining minutes, not really sure whether to defend what they had or look for a killer third goal.
Liverpool ultimately won the match 2-1, giving them a seven-point lead over Arsenal. But with a tough run of matches on the horizon, Slot’s men need to quickly regain their composure if they are not to see their lead start to disappear.

Villa are 12 matches unbeaten on home turf in the Premier League.
But, the Claret and Blue have only won six of those 12. And they have only won one of their last four at home.
It's fair to say that Alex Palmer had an inspired debut in goal for Ipswich on Saturday. But the flip side to that is Villa were very wasteful.
Liverpool were on the ropes in the second half against Wolves. But, they found a way to get the job done, and we say they will find a way past Villa as well.

Over 2.5 goals and BTTS
Aston Villa don’t do clean sheets. They have three in 25 matches this season. Villa are also the only team in the top half of the table with a negative (-3) goal difference.
Liverpool always scores on the road. They haven’t drawn one blank away from home this season.
Villa have scored in 11 of their 13 home matches. The Reds have conceded in seven of their 13 away league matches.
We expect all of those trends to continue at Villa Park, meaning both teams will score and there will be over
