Arkham Intelligence Inc. a blockchain data company, is preparing to launch a new cryptocurrency derivatives exchange in November 2024.
Blockchain data firm Arkham Intelligence Inc. is preparing to launch a cryptocurrency derivatives exchange in November. The news of the exchange launch led to a 16% surge in the price of the company's token, ARKM, on Friday.
The company is shifting its operations from London and New York to Punta Cana in the Dominican Republic, where the exchange will be headquartered. The exchange will cater to retail investors but will not be accessible to users in the United States, according to a report by Bloomberg. Additionally, Arkham is seeking to obtain a free-trade zone license in the Dominican Republic, which will offer tax benefits for businesses.
Bloomberg also reported that the company is aiming to raise $100 million from investors in the Middle East to support the growth of its operations.
The cryptocurrency derivatives market is substantial, with centralized exchanges handling $3.07 trillion in trading volume in September, accounting for approximately 71% of all cryptocurrency trading.
Binance Exchange currently dominates this market, but its share has declined to a four-year low of 27%, according to a recent report by CCData. This creates an opportunity for new entrants like Arkham to capitalize on the growing market.
