Arbitrum (ARB) Emerges as a Top Performer Today, Rising by Over 14%
Mar 06, 2025 at 02:51 am
Arbitrum (ARB) emerged as one of the top performers in the cryptocurrency market today.
Arbitrum (ARB) price showed promising performance on Wednesday evening (UTC) with a 14% spike despite lower trading volume and a year low hit yesterday.
According to data from Atomic and Messari, ARB token rose from a $0.3718 low to a $0.4265 high on the way to Wednesday evening (UTC). At 5:30 PM, it still traded around the $0.41 range, presenting a 12% gain within the day.
Despite the significant spike, ARB's trading volume remained almost the same as yesterday, as it only managed to move approximately $394 million of its supply across wallet addresses. Meanwhile, the latest developments nudged the market cap of the token's 4.41 billion circulating supply to $1.84 billion.
Arbitrum has notably exhibited a bearish path in the longer timeframes, with losses of roughly 10% in a month and 79% in a year. In addition, yesterday marked the lowest recorded price of the token at $0.35.
However, Ali Martinez, a popular analyst on X (formerly Twitter), noticed a few hours ago that ARB has been treading within a descending parallel channel in the three-day chart for a year. He said that any breakout at this point could position the digital asset toward a climb to $0.63 or a 50% squeeze from its prevailing rate. The current dip may provide an enticing buying point for investors with high risk appetites.
Arbitrum Robinhood Listing
Arbitrum recently got a major boost in its market reach following its successful listing on Robinhood Crypto. The crypto exchange just broke the news today.
ARB could leverage the platform's key presence in the US for its growth. Its adoption could also be reinforced by the exchange's relatively low fees compared to other mainstream players like Coinbase (NASDAQ:COIN), Kraken, Crypto.com, and others.
Pectra Upgrade Deployment On Testnet
Since Arbitrum is an Ethereum (ETH) layer-two (L2) scaling solution, the testnet rollout of the Ethereum chain's Pectra upgrade further helped sustain ARB's recovery. The new update brings a host of new developments in Ether's staking, L2 scalability, and network capacity.
The pseudonymous Terence, a core Ethereum contributor, noted that the 11 separate EIPs (Ethereum Improvement Proposals) for the upgrade impressively garnered "a perfect proposal rate" on the chain's Sepolia testnet this morning.
On the other hand, developers have reportedly encountered issues with Pectra on Holesky, Ethereum's testnet focusing on staking, infrastructure, and protocols. This is expected to cause a delay in the mainnet launch of the upgrade.
