Aptos Foundation has officially launched the Hiraya Network in the Philippines.
This initiative aims to empower the growth of local talent and projects within the Aptos ecosystem.
Hiraya Network is also supported by the Department of Science and Technology – Advanced Science and Technology Institute (DOST-ASTI), Ecosystem of Startups-NCR (SCALE NCR), the Blockchain Lead Organization, and Knowledge Center known as “The BLOKC” — a leader in blockchain education in the country.
Also backing them are educational partners like the iAcademy, the Lyceum of the Philippines University, and Council of Deans for Information Technology Education.
The network will focus on three key areas, which are community engagement through events and workshops; developer nurturing through university partnerships, hackathons and open-source R&D projects on Aptos; and Collaborations with startups, academic institutions, and venture capital firms to boost education, awareness, and fundraising for Filipino projects building on Aptos.
Through Hiraya Network, Filipino blockchain enthusiasts, builders, and founders can gain direct access to the Aptos Foundation’s global programs and resources tailored for needs of projects in different stages.
This includes a range of grants and accelerators, as well as the Aptos LFM which is a specialized program designed to support leading, Aptos-native projects in their Token Generation Event (TGE) preparations.
“With the launch of the Hiraya Network, we see a powerful opportunity to nurture Filipino talent, explore real-world blockchain applications, and drive economic empowerment through blockchain and Web3,” said DOST-ASTI Senior Science Research Specialist Roxanne Aviñante.
She continued, “We’re excited to support this initiative and look forward to how it will shape the future of blockchain in the country.”
Meanwhile, Ash Pampati, Head of Ecosystem at Aptos Foundation, expressed his excitement over their entry to the Philippine market.
“This launch enables Aptos to establish its entry into the vibrant Philippines market.”
Pampati added, “By empowering local talent and providing community-first support, we will see the next great founders emerge. With the Hiraya network, we invite builders, entrepreneurs, educators, and creators to build on the world’s most performant blockchain.”
For Mark Hugh Neri, country lead for Hiraya Network, their goal has always been to take what they have built in the past years and bring it to the next level.
“Together with our ever-growing community of developers, mentors, creatives, academic and industry partners and all of those who have been supporting the group since day one, we are going to make significant moves with Aptos,” Neri said.
