2024 Alabama Innovation Dollar Coin Goes on Sale April 8th

Washington, D.C. - The United States Mint will begin selling rolls and bags of the 2024 Alabama American Innovation $1 Coin on Monday, April 8th, at noon EDT. This marks the second release in the series of four American Innovation dollars for 2024, following the Illinois coin released on January 25th.

The reverse of the coin features a depiction of the iconic Saturn V rocket during its historic launch into space, with a prominent full moon textured in the background. The intricate design is the work of Mint Medallic Artist Craig A. Campbell, who served as both the designer and sculptor of the coin. Inscribed on the reverse are the words "ALABAMA," "SATURN V," and "UNITED STATES OF AMERICA."

Uncirculated business strike product options from the Philadelphia and Denver mints will be available for purchase in the following denominations:

ProductPhiladelphia (P)Denver (D)
100-coin bags$119.95$119.95
50-coin rolls$34.95$34.95
25-coin rolls$23.95$23.95
10-coin rolls$11.95$11.95

To ensure fairness and prevent hoarding, a household order limit of 10 per product will be in effect for the first 24 hours of the sale.

Collectors can take advantage of the Mint's REMIND ME alerts to receive notifications when the Alabama American Innovation $1 Coin product options become available on the Mint's product page. Additionally, the American Innovation dollars are part of the Mint's Product Subscription Program. This program allows customers to automatically receive future products in the series without the need to visit the Mint's website on launch day or worry about product availability. Subscriptions will remain active until canceled by the subscriber or the end of the coin program.

American Innovation $1 Coin Program

Launched in 2018 and scheduled to conclude in 2032, the American Innovation $1 Coin Program pays tribute to significant scientific, cultural, and engineering achievements from each state and territory in the Union. Each year, four coins are released, featuring unique reverse designs.

The common obverse of all coins in the series features the Statue of Liberty and a privy mark representing a gear. Designed by Artistic Infusion Program Designer Justin Kunz and sculpted by Medallic Artist Phebe Hemphill, the obverse also bears the inscriptions "IN GOD WE TRUST" and "$1." The edge of the coins is inscribed with the date "2024," the mint mark, and the motto "E PLURIBUS UNUM."
