Agoric Makes Big Progress in Blockchain Interoperability with Several New Developments

Agoric recently launched their Orchestration API, successfully completed Upgrade 16, and listed their native BLD token on the BitMart Exchange.

Agoric (previously ChainLink 2.0) has made significant strides in blockchain interoperability with several recent developments. The protocol launched its Orchestration API, completed Upgrade 16, and listed its native BLD token on the BitMart Exchange.

The Orchestration API is a set of high-level abstractions that allow developers to build multi-chain experiences directly on-chain. This capability is designed to address the fragmentation that has hindered the blockchain ecosystem, making it difficult for users to interact with tokens and applications across different chains.

With the Orchestration API, developers can use Agoric's multi-block execution environment and simple JavaScript APIs to manage accounts and assets on remote chains. The innovation aims to simplify the development process and open up new possibilities for composability across protocols, irrespective of the underlying blockchain.

Complementing the launch of the Orchestration API, Agoric also rolled out its largest and most ambitious upgrade to date, known as Upgrade 16. The upgrade, which went live on July 20, 2024, introduces essential features to support the Orchestration API and establishes the foundation for Agoric's orchestration capabilities.

The implementation of Upgrade 16 ensures that all Cosmos-level and platform-level enhancements are in place, boosting the overall performance and interoperability of the Agoric mainnet.

Among the key features included in the upgrade are the orchestration core capabilities, an upgraded interchain stack, and significant mainnet performance improvements. These advancements are expected to streamline cross-chain communication and further solidify Agoric's role as a leader in blockchain interoperability.

The community response to the upgrade has been very positive, with validator HindsightCrypt1 receiving special recognition for their efforts in shepherding Upgrade 16 from the testnet (Emerynet) to the mainnet.

In another exciting development, Agoric's native token, BLD, has been listed on the BitMart Exchange. This listing enhances the liquidity and accessibility of the BLD token, which is crucial for staking and governance within the Agoric ecosystem.

The availability of the BLD token on BitMart's global platform creates new opportunities for users worldwide to engage with the Agoric ecosystem. The listing is expected to attract a broader audience, ultimately strengthening the community and stimulating greater engagement. Deposits are now open, and trading will commence shortly, with the availability of withdrawals to follow.
