OKX Wallet Independent App Introduction
Features of standalone apps
Multi-chain asset management : OKX Wallet stands out to support many blockchain networks, such as Bitcoin, Ethereum, OKC, Sulana, BSC, Pulygon, Avalanche, Tron, Arbitrum and more than 80 chains. This means that users can manage assets from different blockchains in one App without switching between multiple applications. For example, users hold both ERC-20 tokens on Ethereum and TRC-20 tokens on Tron, and can easily achieve unified management through an independent app of OKX wallet.
One-stop Web3 portal : Through this app, users can easily access more than 1,000 DApp protocols. Whether it is decentralized finance (DeFi) applications, such as lending, trading, financial management, etc., the non-fungible token (NFT) market, or other various Web3 applications, you can find an entrance in the App. This provides users with great convenience to explore the Web3 world, and users no longer need to use these applications through cumbersome web searches and link jumps.
Convenient transfer and collection : In terms of transfer, users can quickly send crypto assets to others. You can initiate a transfer operation by simply entering the other party's wallet address and selecting the currency and quantity to transfer. The withdrawal speed is relatively fast, and there is no need to wait for long-term approval like on some trading platforms. When collecting payments, users can generate an exclusive collection address and receive transfers from others by copying the address or sharing the QR code. Taking receiving Bitcoin as an example, click the "Receive" button in the App and select the Bitcoin currency to obtain the payment address and QR code. If others scan the code or transfer the money to this address, the assets can be quickly received.
Enhanced Security : Independent Apps adopt multiple security measures to protect user assets. For example, using mnemonic words to generate on-chain identity. Mnemonic words are phrases composed of 12 or more English words. Users must keep them properly, because mastering mnemonic words is equivalent to controlling the wallet. At the same time, the app supports biometric unlocking (such as fingerprint recognition, facial recognition) and setting a wallet password to further ensure the security of the wallet access. In addition, security mechanisms such as multi-signature and separation of hot and cold wallets are also used. Multi-signature means that multiple private keys are required to complete a transaction, which increases the security of the transaction; separation of hot and cold wallets stores the private keys in a cold wallet that is not connected to the Internet, reducing the risk of private keys being stolen by network attacks.
Real-time market data viewing : Users can view the market trends of various cryptocurrencies in real time in the App, including price trends, market value rankings, trading volume and other information. This helps users keep abreast of market dynamics and make smarter investment decisions. For example, users can determine whether to buy or sell operations by viewing the real-time price trend of Bitcoin and combining changes in trading volume.
How to use OKX Wallet standalone app
Download and install :
iOS system : Open the App Store, enter "OKX Wallet" in the search bar, and after finding the corresponding app, click "Get" and follow the prompts to complete the download and installation.
Android system : You can go to the OKX official website, find the Android download link of the OKX Wallet standalone app on the website, and click to download the installation package. After the download is complete, click the installation package to install. It should be noted that the Android system may block the installation of applications from the unofficial application store due to security settings. At this time, users need to allow "Unknown Source App Installation" in their mobile phone settings.
Register and log in :
Open the App for the first time, if you don’t have an OKX account, click the “Register” button. During the registration process, you need to fill in your mobile phone number (select the corresponding area code), set your password, and bind your email address. After following the prompts to complete the verification steps, you can successfully register an OKX account.
Users who already have an OKX account can directly click "Login" and enter the mobile phone number or email address and password you used to register to log in to the App.
Create or import a wallet :
Create a wallet : After logging in to the App, switch to the "Web3 Wallet" page on the homepage and click "Create Wallet". At this time, the verification method selection will pop up. The user can choose to set a wallet password or use biometrics (fingerprint or facial recognition) to create a wallet. After the creation is successful, the system will prompt the backup mnemonic word. Mnemonic words are the key to restoring your wallet. Be sure to choose a safe way to backup, such as manually copying it on paper and keeping it properly. It is not recommended to use screenshots and other methods that are prone to leaks. After the backup is completed, you need to verify the mnemonic words according to the prompts on the page to ensure that the mnemonic words are copied correctly.
Import Wallet : If the user already has an OKX wallet or other compatible wallet, you can choose "Import Already Wallet". Import the wallet through mnemonic words or private keys to restore the original wallet assets. When importing mnemonics, be sure to ensure the accuracy of mnemonics, otherwise it may not be possible to successfully import the wallet. Private key import also requires caution. Private keys are the highest privilege vouchers for the wallet. Once leaked, assets will face the risk of stolen.
asset Management :
View Assets : On the wallet homepage, users can intuitively see the balance and market value of various crypto assets that have been added. Click on the specific asset to view the detailed transaction records, transfer and collection functions of the asset.
Add currency : If you want to add a new currency, click "Currency Management" at the bottom of the homepage of your wallet. On the Currency Management page, you can add currency by searching for the currency name or contract address. For example, if you want to add a niche ERC-20 token, enter the contract address of the token in the search box and add it to your wallet for management.
Transfer operation : Taking transferring Ethereum as an example, click Ethereum assets to enter the details page, and click the "Send" button. Enter the recipient's Ethereum wallet address and transfer quantity, select the appropriate network fee (usually there are fast, average, slow, etc. The higher the network fee, the faster the transaction confirmation speed), click "Next" and confirm the transfer information, and you can complete the transfer operation.
Payment collection operation : Click the "Receive" button on the homepage of the wallet and select the currency to receive to obtain the corresponding payment address and QR code of the currency. Share the collection information with others. After others transfer the money, the assets will be automatically deposited into the corresponding wallet.
Participate in DeFi and other applications :
When a user wants to use a DeFi application, find the corresponding application portal in the OKX Wallet standalone app. For example, when entering the "DeFi" section, some popular DeFi projects will be displayed here. Click to enter the project you are interested in, connect to the wallet as prompted, and authorize the application to access the wallet assets, you can use the functions of the DeFi application, such as mortgage lending in the lending application, trading on a decentralized exchange, etc.
For frequently used DApps, users can click the "Favorites" button in the application details page to add it to "My Favorites" for quick access next time.
