How to Scan a QR Code with Electrum Wallet

Step 1: Open Electrum Wallet

Launch Electrum wallet on your device. Ensure that you are using the latest version of the software.

Step 2: Locate the QR Scanner

In the Electrum wallet, navigate to the "Receive" tab. You will find a QR code scanner icon in the center of the screen.

Step 3: Aim the Camera at the QR Code

Position your device so that the camera is facing the QR code you want to scan. The QR code should be within the frame displayed on the screen.

Step 4: Hold Steady

Hold your device steady for a few seconds while the wallet attempts to scan the QR code. If the QR code is successfully scanned, you will see a notification message.

Step 5: Confirm the Address

After scanning the QR code, Electrum wallet will automatically fill in the recipient's address in the "Address" field. Verify that the address is correct before proceeding.

Step 6: Adjust the Amount (Optional)

If you are sending a different amount of bitcoin than the one specified in the QR code, adjust the "Amount" field accordingly.

Step 7: Send the Transaction

Once the address and amount are confirmed, click the "Send" button to initiate the transaction. Electrum wallet will broadcast the transaction to the bitcoin network.

Troubleshooting Tips

Ensure the camera is in focus: Adjust the camera's position until the QR code is sharp and clearly visible.
Provide sufficient lighting: Make sure the QR code is well-lit to improve the scanning accuracy.
