How to Bridge ETH to Base on MetaMask

Step 1: Install the MetaMask Extension on Your Browser

Visit the MetaMask website (https://metamask.io/) and download the extension for your browser.
Follow the instructions to create a wallet or import an existing one.

Step 2: Set Up the Base Network on Metamask

Open MetaMask and click on the "Networks" tab.
Click on "Custom RPC" and enter the following details:
- Network Name: Base
- New RPC URL: https://basechain.defi.org/
- Chain ID: 2746
- Currency Symbol: BASE
- Block Explorer URL: https://explorer.basechain.org/

Step 3: Get ETH on Base Network

You can acquire ETH on the Base network through a decentralized exchange (DEX) such as Uniswap or SushiSwap.
Transfer your ETH to your MetaMask wallet on the Base network.

Step 4: Bridge ETH to Base Using Wormhole

Visit the Wormhole bridge website (https://wormholebridge.com/).
Select "Token Bridge."
Choose "ETH" as the token you want to bridge and "Base" as the destination chain.
Enter the amount of ETH you want to bridge.
Click on "Bridge" and follow the on-screen instructions.

Step 5: Confirm the Transaction and Monitor Progress

MetaMask will prompt you to confirm the transaction.
Click on "Confirm" to initiate the bridging process.
You can monitor the progress of the transaction on the Wormhole explorer (https://explorer.wormholebridge.com/).

Additional Notes:

Ensure you have sufficient transaction fees both on the Ethereum and Base networks.
The bridging process typically takes a few minutes to complete.
Once the bridging is successful, your ETH will be available on your MetaMask wallet on the Base network.
