What is the Issuance Volume of LPT Coins?

Definition:
LPT (Livepeer Token) is the native utility token of the Livepeer decentralized video streaming network. It is used for governance, incentivizing video transcoding, purchasing video streaming services, and staking for rewards.
Issuance Volume:
The total supply of LPT coins is capped at 24 million. Of these, 16.8 million tokens were initially created during the network's genesis, distributed among early contributors, team members, and community members.
Additional Issuance:
Livepeer's inflation model allows for additional LPT issuance over time. This issuance is designed to incentivize network participation and offset the potential reduction in fees over time. The current inflation rate is approximately 2.5% per year.

Application Scenarios of LPT Coins:

Governance:
LPT holders can participate in the governance of the Livepeer network by proposing and voting on protocol updates, fee structures, and other key decisions that affect the ecosystem.
Transcoding Rewards:
