BONE, the governance token of ShibaSwap, cannot be mined due to its use of a proof-of-staking consensus mechanism, where tokens are locked up to validate transactions and earn rewards.

Can Bone ShibaSwap (BONE) Coins Be Mined?
Introduction:
Bone ShibaSwap (BONE) is the governance token of the ShibaSwap decentralized exchange (DEX), a platform built on the Ethereum blockchain. As a governance token, BONE holders have voting rights on various protocol decisions and developments. While many cryptocurrencies are mined through a process of solving complex mathematical problems, BONE does not follow this approach.
Why Can't BONE Coins Be Mined?
Unlike Bitcoin and other proof-of-work cryptocurrencies, BONE utilizes an alternative consensus mechanism called proof-of-staking. This mechanism involves locking up tokens in a wallet to validate transactions on the blockchain, providing security and earning rewards for token holders.
BONE Coin Distribution:
BONE coins were distributed through the following mechanisms:
- Liquidity Provider (LP) Rewards: Users who provide liquidity to pools on ShibaSwap earned BONE as a reward for their contributions.
- BONE Token Sale: A portion of BONE was sold through token sales to raise funds for the development of the ShibaSwap ecosystem.
- Buried BONE Rewards: BONE tokens could be staked on ShibaSwap to earn additional BONE rewards.
- DIG Rewards: Users who provided liquidity to specific "DIG" liquidity pools earned BONE as a reward for participating in the community-managed token listing platform.
BONE Coin Utility:
In addition to its governance role, BONE also serves several other functions within the ShibaSwap ecosystem:
- Voting Rights: BONE holders have voting rights for various ShibaSwap proposals, including the addition of new liquidity pairs, development roadmaps, and ecosystem upgrades.
- ShibaSwap Fees: A portion of the fees generated on ShibaSwap are distributed to BONE holders who have staked their tokens.
- Treats and Games: BONE can be used as currency in the ShibaSwap "Treats" and "Games" sections, allowing users to participate in raffles and various games to earn rewards.
BONE Coin Issuance:
The total supply of BONE coins is capped at 250 million. New BONE coins are not mined or created, but rather distributed through the mechanisms described above. This ensures the scarcity of BONE and its value as a governance token.
