How to Sell Poloniex Perpetual Contract

Perpetual contracts, also known as perpetual futures, are a type of financial derivative that allows traders to speculate on the future price of an underlying asset without having to take delivery of the asset itself. Perpetual contracts are similar to traditional futures contracts, but they do not have a fixed expiry date. This means that traders can hold perpetual contracts for as long as they want, or until they decide to close their position.

Poloniex is one of the most popular exchanges for trading perpetual contracts. The exchange offers a wide range of perpetual contracts, including contracts based on Bitcoin, Ethereum, Litecoin, and other cryptocurrencies.

To sell a perpetual contract on Poloniex, you will need to:

  1. Create a Poloniex account. If you do not already have a Poloniex account, you can create one by visiting the Poloniex website and clicking on the "Sign Up" button.
  2. Fund your Poloniex account. You can fund your Poloniex account by depositing cryptocurrency or by using a credit or debit card.
  3. Navigate to the Perpetual Contract trading page. Once you have funded your Poloniex account, you can navigate to the Perpetual Contract trading page by clicking on the "Perpetual" tab in the navigation bar.
  4. Select the perpetual contract you want to sell. Poloniex offers a wide range of perpetual contracts, including contracts based on Bitcoin, Ethereum, Litecoin, and other cryptocurrencies. To select the perpetual contract you want to sell, click on the "Select Contract" button and then select the contract from the list.
  5. Enter the order details. Once you have selected the perpetual contract you want to sell, you will need to enter the order details. The order details include the order type, the order quantity, and the order price.
  6. Click on the "Sell" button. Once you have entered the order details, you can click on the "Sell" button to place the order.

Once you have placed the order, it will be filled when the market price reaches your order price. You can monitor the status of your order by clicking on the "Orders" tab in the navigation bar.

Tips for Selling Perpetual Contracts

Here are a few tips for selling perpetual contracts on Poloniex:

  • Use limit orders. Limit orders allow you to specify the price at which you want to sell your perpetual contract. This can help you to avoid selling your contract at a loss.
  • Be aware of the risks. Perpetual contracts are a leveraged product, which means that you can lose more money than you invest. It is important to be aware of the risks involved before trading perpetual contracts.
  • Don't overtrade. It is important to only trade with money that you can afford to lose. Don't overtrade, or you could end up losing more money than you can afford.
