Once you have opened a position in a contract, you can exit the agreement by closing it. This guide outlines the steps you need to follow to close your Bitstamp contracts.
Steps to Close Bitstamp Contracts
Log in to Your Bitstamp Account
- Navigate to the Bitstamp website and enter your login credentials.
- If you do not have an account, you must first create one by completing the registration process.
Access the Contracts Trading Interface
- Once logged in, select the "Contracts" tab from the top menu bar.
- This will display the contracts trading interface, where you can view your active positions.
Select the Contract to Close
- Identify the contract position you wish to close from the list of active positions.
- Click on the "Close" button associated with that particular contract.
Confirm the Closing Parameters
- A confirmation dialog box will appear, displaying the details of the contract you are about to close.
- Verify that the contract details are correct, including the closing price and the amount of cryptocurrency involved.
Execute the Closing Order
- Review the confirmation details carefully and ensure that you are satisfied with the closing terms.
- Click on the "Close Contract" button to execute the order and close your position.
Monitor the Contract Closure
- After you have executed the closing order, the contract will be marked as "Closing" in the active positions list.
- You can monitor the progress of the closing process in real-time through the trading interface.
Settlement of the Contract
- Once the closing process is complete, the contract will be settled, and the resulting profit or loss will be reflected in your Bitstamp account.
- The settlement process typically takes a few minutes to complete.
Confirmation of Closure
- After the contract settlement is complete, you will receive an email notification from Bitstamp confirming the closure of your position.
- The email will provide details of the closed contract, including the closing price, profit or loss, and any applicable fees.
