How to close Bitfinex leverage
To close leverage on Bitfinex, log in, navigate to the "Margin" page, find and select the position to close, enter the amount to close, and click "Close Position," verifying the closed position in the "Order History" afterward.

How to Close Bitfinex Leverage
Step 1: Log in to your Bitfinex account
- Navigate to the Bitfinex website and click on the "Log In" button located at the top right corner of the page.
- Enter your username and password, and click on the "Login" button.
Step 2: Navigate to the "Margin" page
- Once you have logged in, hover your mouse over the "Trading" tab and select "Margin."
- This will take you to the "Margin" page, which displays all of your open positions.
Step 3: Find the position you want to close
- On the "Margin" page, you will see a list of all of your open positions.
- Each position will have a "Symbol" column, which indicates the asset that you are trading.
- Find the position that you want to close and click on the "Close Position" button.
Step 4: Enter the amount you want to close
- Once you have clicked on the "Close Position" button, a modal window will appear.
- Enter the amount of the position that you want to close in the "Amount" field.
- You can either enter a specific amount or use the percentage buttons to close a portion of your position.
Step 5: Click on the "Close Position" button
- Once you have entered the amount that you want to close, click on the "Close Position" button.
- Bitfinex will then close your position and return the proceeds to your available balance.
Step 6: Verify the closed position
- After you have clicked on the "Close Position" button, the order will be executed and your position will be closed.
- To verify this, navigate to the "Order History" page.
Step 7: Repeat steps 3-6 for any additional positions
- If you have multiple positions open, you will need to repeat steps 3-6 for each position that you want to close.
- Once you have closed all of your positions, your leverage will be zero.
Additional Notes
- If you close a position with leverage, you will need to pay the interest that you have accrued.
- You can also close a position by using the "Market" order type, which will sell your position at the current market price.
