1. Polygon (MATIC): An Overview
Polygon, previously known as Matic Network, is a layer-2 scaling solution for Ethereum. It enables faster and cheaper transactions while maintaining the security of the Ethereum blockchain.
2. MATIC Coin
MATIC is the native cryptocurrency of the Polygon ecosystem. It is used for paying transaction fees on the Polygon network and fueling governance processes.
3. Total Issuance Volume
The total issuance volume of MATIC is 10,000,000,000 tokens. Out of this, nearly 85% have been released into circulation, while the remaining are earmarked for future development, team allocations, partnerships, etc.
4. Online Exchanges
MATIC is listed on numerous cryptocurrency exchanges, including Binance, Coinbase, Kraken, Huobi, and FTX. These exchanges allow users to buy, sell, and trade MATIC coins.
5. Recent Price Performance
The price of MATIC has fluctuated significantly since its launch. It reached an all-time high of $2.92 in December 2021 but has since corrected down. As of today (April 8, 2023), MATIC trades at approximately $1.17.
