How to Import ICP Coins into a Wallet
1. Choose a Wallet
- Polkadot.js: Official multi-chain wallet supporting ICP.
- Infinity Wallet: Dedicated ICP wallet with staking and governance features.
- Ledger Nano X: Hardware wallet that stores your ICP offline.
- Exodus: Cryptocurrency exchange with built-in ICP wallet.
2. Import Wallets
Polkadot.js:
- Install the extension from the Chrome Web Store.
- Create a new wallet or import an existing one using a mnemonic phrase.
- Navigate to "Accounts" and click "Import Stash Account."
- Enter your ICP account ID and corresponding derivation path (usually "ED25519" and "sr25519").
Infinity Wallet:
- Download the wallet application from the official website.
- Create a new wallet or import an existing one using a mnemonic phrase.
- Click on the "Receive" tab and select "Recovery Phrase."
- Enter your ICP recovery phrase and it will automatically import your wallet.
Ledger Nano X:
- Connect the device to your computer and install the Ledger Live app.
- Follow the instructions on the app to create a new account or import an existing one.
- Enable the "Blockchain Accounts" app and add ICP as an asset.
Exodus:
- Install the Exodus application on your computer or mobile device.
- Create a new wallet or import an existing one using a mnemonic phrase.
- Navigate to the "Receive" tab and select "Internet Computer (ICP)."
- Deposit ICP to the generated address.
3. Transfer ICP to the Wallet
Once your wallet is imported, you can transfer ICP coins from an exchange or another wallet.
- Obtain the wallet address for your ICP wallet.
- Go to the exchange or other wallet where you hold ICP.
- Initiate a withdrawal transaction and enter the ICP wallet address as the destination.
