Say what you will about Sleep Token, but love ’em or hate ’em, you know those guys know how to go viral and promote the shit out of their tours, albums, merch… really pretty much anything. So it shouldn’t surprise you that apparently fans have been receiving Sleep Token sheet music from what seems to be a burner account associated with the band.
This isn’t the first time they’ve employed some unorthodox methods to promote their new album. Earlier this month the masked band launched a weird teaser website that featured a puzzle for fans to solve. I’m not sure if people have completely solved the puzzle, but details about what you can find in the site were previously reported so you can check that out whenever you get a chance.
Going back to the sheet music, that bit of weirdness is coming from an Instagram account called featheredhost. It’s assumed that the sheet music is from the band’s new music, but as someone that hasn’t learned how to decipher musical notation, the whole thing just looks like moon runes to me.
As for Sleep Token’s follow up Take Me Back To Eden, we’re still waiting to learn anything about it. We’re still in the dark about it, but if it’s even remotely as successful as the last one, it’s going to be absolutely massive.
Couple all that with the fact that they’re headlining one of the nights at this year’s Download Festival and we might be in another massive year for Sleep Token to gain even more prominence. And another year of metalheads claiming this isn’t real metal.
