OpenAI Is in Talks to Integrate ChatGPT Into Samsung's Galaxy AI Suite

ChatGPT maker OpenAI is reportedly in talks with Samsung to integrate its AI tech into the Galaxy AI suite, which powers features on Samsung’s mobile devices.

Galaxy AI leverages large language models (LLMs) and other technologies developed by Samsung and provided by partners, including Google’s Gemini models.

Samsung, the world’s leading mobile device manufacturer, ships hundreds of millions of handsets annually. A potential deal with OpenAI could give its AI tech a massive presence in this huge market segment.

Samsung is currently on track to enable Galaxy AI on over 200 million devices this year, and it has already shipped the technology on millions of devices. At this growth trajectory, Galaxy AI-powered devices could reach one billion units within a few years.

In this context, OpenAI is reportedly exploring the possibility of having its ChatGPT tech power certain AI features from Samsung to enter this ecosystem, going head-to-head against Google’s Gemini-powered AI.

This potential partnership with Samsung would be similar to OpenAI’s relationship with Apple, where its tech is used to enhance the intelligent features of iPhones.
